The price is assumed to change at a steady rate, which Bitcoin never does, so treat the figures as a guide. Tax follows section 115BBH. Live prices are provided by CoinGecko. For buys you have already made, use the Crypto DCA Calculator.
Each buy gets the Bitcoin its amount, less the fee, buys at that moment, with the price changing at a steady yearly rate from today’s price.
Short answers on stacking Bitcoin with a regular buy.
How much Bitcoin a regular buy builds up. Say you buy ₹5,000 of Bitcoin every week for 5 years, starting at ₹90,00,000 with a 0.5% fee, and the price rises 15% a year. You put in ₹13,00,000 over 260 buys and stack 0.10355328 BTC, an average of ₹1,25,53,923.99 per Bitcoin. At the end price of ₹1,81,02,214.69 that is worth ₹18,74,543.70.
Enter a goal and the calculator counts the buys. In the example you reach 0.1 BTC after 248 buys, about 4 years 9 months from now. It also works out the amount per buy that reaches the goal by the end of the plan: ₹4,828.43 a week would get you to 0.1 BTC in 5 years. A rising price means each later buy gets fewer satoshis, so the goal takes longer than today’s price suggests.
The smallest unit of Bitcoin. One Bitcoin is 10,00,00,000 satoshis (100 million), so 0.1 BTC is 1,00,00,000 satoshis. Your ₹5,000 buy, ₹4,975 after the fee, gets 55,278 satoshis at ₹90,00,000. You can set your goal in BTC or in satoshis.
There is no reliable figure. Bitcoin has risen and fallen by more than half within a year, so try a cautious rate, a hopeful one and a negative one. With a falling price each buy gets more Bitcoin, so you stack more but it is worth less; the year-by-year table shows both. For a plan through uneven years, the Crypto Compound Growth Calculator may help.
If you sell, the gain is taxed at a flat 30% under section 115BBH, plus 4% cess, making 31.2%. Only what you paid can be deducted, not the fee on the sale, and a loss cannot be set off against other income. The exchange deducts 1% TDS on the sale, which counts towards the tax. In the example the tax is ₹1,79,257.63, leaving a profit of ₹3,85,913.35 after tax. See the Bitcoin Tax Calculator for more.
The amount put in matters far more than how often. With the price rising steadily, buying sooner gets slightly more Bitcoin, so the same monthly budget split into daily buys ends a little ahead of one monthly buy; with a falling price it is the other way round. Check whether your exchange charges a fixed fee per buy, which makes small, frequent buys costlier. The Recurring Crypto Investment Calculator compares frequencies side by side.
The Crypto DCA Calculator works out the average price from buys you have made, at the prices you paid. This one looks forward: how much Bitcoin a regular buy will stack, and how long until you reach a goal. To see the return on a plan you already run, use the Crypto DCA Return Calculator.
