A plan at a steady return, not a forecast; real prices swing, which is where buying weekly helps. To plan towards a goal, use the Crypto Monthly Investment Calculator.

How it is calculated

Each week’s amount goes in at the start of the week, less the fee on that buy, and everything grows at a steady weekly rate that matches the yearly return.

  • Weekly growth rate = (1 + yearly return) raised to the power of 1 ÷ 52, minus 1
  • Fee on each buy = weekly amount × fee % + fixed fee
  • Each week = (value so far + weekly amount − fee) × (1 + weekly growth rate)
  • Total put in = weekly amount × 52 × years, fees included
  • Cost of fees = the final value with no fees − the final value with them
  • Monthly comparison = weekly amount × 52 ÷ 12 at the start of each month, with the same fees on each of the 12 buys a year

Frequently asked questions

Short answers on buying crypto every week.

What a fixed weekly buy could grow to, and what the fees on all those buys cost. Investing ₹2,500 a week for 5 years at 15% a year, with a 0.5% fee on each buy, you put in ₹6,50,000 over 260 buys and end with ₹9,37,271.85.

More than the fees themselves, because money paid in fees never grows. In the example the fees add up to ₹3,250, but the final value is ₹4,709.91 lower than with no fees. A fixed fee hurts small buys most: ₹20 on each ₹2,500 buy is 0.8%, and on a ₹500 buy it is 4%.

Not at a steady return. Putting the month’s money in on the first day means it is invested sooner, so ₹10,833.33 at the start of each month ends at ₹9,41,474.78 in the example, ₹4,202.94 more than weekly. With a ₹20 fixed fee instead, weekly pays for 260 buys against 60 and ends ₹10,013.07 behind. Weekly does better when the return is negative.

Because crypto prices swing. Buying every week spreads your money over four times as many prices, so a single badly timed buy matters less, and it fits money that comes in weekly. A steady-return calculator cannot show that benefit. To see how spreading buys over real prices changes your average cost, use the Crypto DCA Calculator.

It assumes everything is sold at the end and the growth, the final value less everything you put in including fees, is taxed at India’s flat 30%, plus 4% cess. The 1% TDS on the sale is not included. For the full tax on a sale, use the India Crypto Tax Calculator.

The fee your exchange charges on each buy. Indian exchanges commonly charge about 0.1% to 0.5% a trade, plus 18% GST on the fee, and some instant-buy and recurring-buy options charge more. If your exchange charges a fixed amount per order, enter it as the fixed fee. To check the fee on a single trade, use the Crypto Spot Trading Fee Calculator.

The Crypto Monthly Investment Calculator plans backwards from a goal, with a yearly step-up. The Crypto Investment Calculator projects a starting amount plus monthly buys. This one buys every week and counts the fee on each buy.
