Short answers on recurring crypto buys.
What a recurring buy on an exchange could add up to. Buying ₹2,500 of Bitcoin every week for 12 months, with the price rising steadily from ₹50,00,000 to ₹65,00,000 and a 0.5% fee, gets you about 0.02281208 BTC at an average of ₹56,98,736.21. At ₹65,00,000 that is worth ₹1,48,278.49, a profit of ₹18,278.49 on ₹1,30,000.
It depends on where the price goes. If it rises steadily, buying everything today does better: ₹1,30,000 at ₹50,00,000 would be worth ₹1,68,155 at the end, ₹19,876.51 more. If the price falls to ₹35,00,000 instead, the recurring buy ends at ₹1,08,423.84 and buying it all today at ₹90,545, so recurring is ₹17,878.84 ahead. A recurring buy trades some upside for protection against buying everything at a high.
With a fee that is a percentage of each buy, it makes little difference. A fixed fee per buy changes that: on a ₹10,833 monthly budget with a ₹20 fee, buying daily means 365 fees, ₹7,950 a year, against 12 for buying monthly. The table compares the same monthly budget at each frequency so you can see the cost.
Because coins are worth what they sell for. The end price is your own assumption, not a forecast: try one above today’s price, one below, and one the same, to see how the result changes. The price is assumed to move steadily between the two, while real prices jump around, which changes the average you actually get.
It assumes you sell everything at the end price and pay India’s flat 30% tax on the profit, plus 4% cess, with no tax on a loss. The 1% TDS on the sale and the 18% GST that exchanges add to their fee are not shown separately; include GST in the fee you enter.
Several Indian exchanges offer a crypto SIP or recurring buy, daily, weekly or monthly, taking money from your wallet or bank. Check the fee on each buy, the smallest amount allowed and whether a missed payment pauses the plan. To check the fee on one trade, use the Crypto Spot Trading Fee Calculator.
The Crypto DCA Calculator uses the real prices of buys you have already made. The Crypto Weekly Investment Calculator and the Crypto Monthly Investment Calculator work from a yearly return in rupees. This one works in coins, from today’s price to a price you expect.
