Each holding grows at a steady rate you choose, with no rebalancing; real prices do not grow evenly. For one amount at a range of returns, use the Lump Sum Crypto Calculator.
Each holding grows at its own yearly rate, and the portfolio is worth the sum of them.
Short answers on projecting the future value of a crypto portfolio.
What a mix of crypto holdings could be worth in the future if each grew at the rate you expect. Say you hold ₹2,00,000 of Bitcoin, ₹1,00,000 of Ethereum, ₹50,000 of Solana and ₹50,000 of another coin, and expect 15%, 20%, 30% and −10% a year. In 10 years the ₹4,00,000 would be worth ₹21,35,011.57.
Because the fastest-growing holdings become a bigger part of the portfolio over time. Weighted by today’s values, the four rates above average 15%, but the portfolio grows at 18.23% a year, because Solana’s 30% applies to a share that keeps getting larger. It works the other way for a fall: a coin losing value shrinks out of the picture, so its loss counts for less each year.
How the mix of your portfolio drifts if you never rebalance. In the example Solana starts as 12.5% of the portfolio and ends as 32.3%, while Bitcoin goes from 50% to 37.9%. A portfolio left alone ends up dominated by whatever grew fastest, which also makes it riskier if that coin then falls.
It assumes you sell everything at the end and pay India’s flat 30% on the gain, plus 4% cess. Enter what you paid for the holdings to tax only the real gain; leave it blank to tax the growth from today’s value. In the example, tax on the growth from ₹4,00,000 is ₹5,20,503.47, leaving ₹16,14,508.10. Losses on one coin cannot be set off against gains on another in India.
What the future value would buy at today’s prices. At 6% inflation a year, ₹21,35,011.57 in 10 years is worth about ₹11,92,179.31 today.
There is no reliable figure. Crypto prices can rise or fall by more than half in a year, and smaller coins can go to zero. Try cautious and hopeful rates, and a negative one for a coin you are unsure of. To see how uneven years change the result, use the Crypto Compound Growth Calculator.
The Lump Sum Crypto Calculator projects one amount at one rate, with a range of returns. The Crypto CAGR Calculator solves for the rate, the years or the starting amount. This one projects several holdings at once, each at its own rate.
